Founded in 2006, still growing
GNFK was established in 2006 by community members connected to Gurudwara Sukh Sagar, including founding members Indy Panchi and Roveen Kandola. What began as an informal effort to serve cooked meals to residents of the Downtown Eastside has grown into a registered non-profit and charity that has served over 1.2 million meals since founding.
Our motto, "Love All Feed All," reflects the Sikh principle of Sarbhat da Bhalla — the well-being of all. We're guided by the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji: Kirat Karo (work hard and honestly), Naam Jappo (always remember), and Wandd Chhako (share with those in need).
What guides everything we do
Kirat Karo
Work hard and honestly in everything we do — from cooking to fundraising.
Naam Jappo
Stay grounded in gratitude, humility and remembrance.
Wandd Chhako
Share generously with those in need, without expecting anything back.
